Energy Workforce hosted the US Ambassador to Qatar, Timmy Davis, for a round table discussion on business opportunities within the bilateral relationship in partnership with the U.S. Commercial Service.
The industry roundtable served as a platform for Ambassador Davis to discuss the market opportunities in Doha and elaborate on the various economic, educational, and energy ties between the two countries. On the energy front, U.S. energy service companies have a strong presence in Qatar and work hand in hand with QatarEnergy in the production of oil and gas.
Energy Workforce has a longstanding relationship with the U.S. State Department and all the foreign service officers who have completed the Houston Energy Course, including over dozen officers who were based or heading to Doha, Qatar. Engagements such as the roundtable and the Houston Energy Course, create a conduit for members to connect directly with officers who can provide extensive support to their business in-country.
As U.S. energy services companies continue to develop and deploy technologies to support increasing production of energy globally and meet growing demand, Energy Workforce is a partner in supporting these opportunities. Companies can engage through the Middle East Chapter, based in Dubai; the International Programs Committee which hosts the Houston Energy Course; and through the Government Affairs Committee which engages the U.S. Federal government.
