Energy Workforce Awards $27,000 in Scholarships, Honors Legacy with Scott Gale Memorial Recipient

The Energy Workforce & Technology Council has awarded $27,000 in scholarships to 52 students nationwide for the 2025-26 school year through its longstanding Scholarship Program. This year’s awards include the distinguished Scott Gale Memorial Scholarship, honoring the legacy of a respected industry leader and champion of energy innovation.

Since its inception in the 1970s, the scholarship program has awarded more than $4.4 million to help dependents, spouses, and employees of member companies pursue higher education, earn degrees, and launch successful careers.

“Building the future workforce starts with investing in people,” said Energy Workforce President Molly Determan. “This program helps remove financial barriers for our workforce and their dependents, and we’re also investing in the future leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers who will shape the energy sector for years to come. It’s a privilege to contribute to their academic journeys and support their path to success.”

The Energy Workforce chapters raise scholarship funds through local events, including the Permian Basin Chapter’s Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament on June 12 at Ratliff Golf Club in Odessa, and the Oklahoma Chapter’s Clay Shoot this November.
